We wish to thank all of our volunteers who’re dedicated to giving again to their group. Your exhausting work and dedication doesn’t go unnoticed.

 Jean Main:

“I presently reside in Burlington. I’ve liked the sport of discipline hockey since grade 9 so any likelihood I’ve to present again, I’ll. My involvement permits me to remain concerned with the sport, see all of the adjustments through the years and see so many mates that I’ve coached, performed with or volunteered with. Area hockey is a group so that you at all times know somebody at a recreation.

I presently actually get pleasure from volunteering on the tech desk for OFSAA annually. As a former highschool coach, I get pleasure from watching the sport up shut and re- uniting with so many mates”.

Catherine Croucher:

I reside in Newmarket, Ontario. Initially I  performed in Quebec, after which Oakville and Toronto. I taught, coached and umpired within the York Area for over 30 years.  I used to be on the OFSsA sport committee for Area Hockey for over 20 years.  After I retired, I used to be requested to be a part of an award committee and thought it could be an excellent continuation of my involvement in FHO.

My favorite volunteer experiences could be Pan Am video games discipline hockey and the Nationals in Toronto 2019. It was nice to reconnect with so many individuals from throughout Canada and to observe such excessive stage hockey.

 Diane Huneault:

I reside in Burlington the place the Halton Area Hockey Membership is my native membership.  Since I first encountered discipline hockey in my late teenagers, the game has captivated me.  I’ve volunteered on the Membership, Area and Provincial ranges through the years as an organizer, coach and official with a purpose to assist develop the game into extra of a mainstream sport in order that extra individuals will discover the enjoyment that I’ve discovered from taking part. I notably wish to see the game develop at native ranges by rising leisure and developmental participation. My early volunteering for the Provincial group was with the Ontario Girls’s Area Hockey Affiliation (previous to FHO) the place I advocated on the Board stage for established Golf equipment to develop leisure home leagues inside their native areas. Sadly, there are nonetheless too few native leagues in our province. Beginning within the mid-2000s I labored on a committee to arrange and run a Provincial Junior Improvement League. At the moment my Membership had a well-established and rising home league for U18 gamers, and a extra aggressive league to problem gamers with the talents and curiosity to play at the next stage was a step that was wanted to supply alternatives for our members. Over the previous decade I’ve served on FHO’s volunteer Board of Administrators for six years and on FHO committees together with the 1985 Fund for Girls Committee and the Membership Help Committee.  It pleases me that FHO has been in a position to direct substantial sources in the direction of Membership assist and rising the participant base on the native stage previously couple of years. Volunteers are key to creating and sustaining native stage sport.
